In partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Bank of Mongolia is assessing the effectiveness of policy measures designed to reduce the concentration of bank ownership and shape future strategic directions. As part of this initiative, a comprehensive study was carried out to evaluate changes in governance and operations following the transition of banks to joint-stock companies. The findings of this study were presented.

Ernst & Young, an independent professional consulting firm, conducted the research. During the presentation, the firm highlighted the key issues identified in the report, including potential strategies to diversify ownership, proposed legislative amendments, and other insights from the study.

The workshop brought together the Governor and senior officials of the Bank of Mongolia, representatives from the EBRD, the American Chamber of Commerce, and other key stakeholders. Participants included executives, staff, investors, and professionals from the commercial banking and financial sectors, who engaged in open and constructive discussions.
