Members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Mongolia have been appointed

At its plenary meeting of May 03, the Parliament of Mongolia discussed the appointment of independent members of the Monetary Policy Committee.   ­

Under the amendment Law on the Central Bank, approved by the Parliament on 12 January 2018, the Bank of Mongolia’s Monetary Policy Committee is set to restructured as a commision and will have four independent members out of seven. Pursuant to the new law, Committee shall include the Governor, the First Deputy Governor, and the Deputy Governor of Bank of Mongolia. 

The Economic Standing Committee nominated Batsukh Tserendorj, Munkhbayar Tsedevsuren and Khashchuluun Chuluundorj to independent members of the Monetary Policy Committee, and drafted the bill to the Parliament. During the parliamentary session, appointment of the nominated candidates were approved. The independent members will be appointed on sixyear term.
